Vantage Markets is a broker that offers forex, indices, commodities, shares and ETFs as contracts for difference (CFDs). This site is a guide put together in English and is not the official site.

Comparing spreads
The spread is the difference between the buying price and the selling price. It is in effect your trading cost, so the more often you buy and sell, the wider it opens up.

Questions
What is a CFD?
It is a contract to exchange only the price difference, without buying the physical asset. Trading gold does not make the gold yours. You can take a position whether the price rises or falls, but losses come in the same size.
How much do I need to start?
It differs by account type. Check the conditions for each type on the official sign-up page. We do not list amounts on this site — they change often.
Can I just practice?
Demo trading is available. You practice on the same screens with virtual money, so no real money is involved.
What is leverage?
It is a way of trading a large amount with a small amount of money. Profits and losses both grow in multiples, so even a small move against you can force your position to be closed.
Is this the official site?
No. It is a place that provides guidance in English and passes you on through a referral link. Accounts, deposits and withdrawals, and enquiries all take place on the official Vantage Markets pages.
What about taxes?
Tax treatment of overseas derivatives trading differs by country and by personal circumstances. Check the rules where you live.
Check before you start
- Loss of capital — With a CFD you can lose more than the money you put in. Only use money you can afford to lose.
- Leverage — The bigger your bet, the shorter the distance to a forced close (liquidation). As a rule, beginners should not use too much of it.
- Regions served — Sign-up may be restricted depending on your country. First check on the sign-up page whether your country can be selected.
- Terms can change — Spreads, fees, and promotions change without notice. Check the official information before applying.
